In 2005, MTI was acquired by BAE, MTI, Inc. The acquisition was an ideal addition to the BAE, MTI suite of Engineering Centers of Excellence and brought with it AVCOM and OASIS the two premier and industry-leading obsolescence management systems available today. The philosophy of the two organizations is well-matched, with a commitment to quality and a comprehensive approach to providing solutions featuring research, engineering, service and support.
In response to customer needs for a proactive DMSMS tool, MTI established the Obsolescence Management Directorate and developed the Advanced Component Obsolescence Management (AVCOM) product in 1997. While the initial focus of AVCOM was obsolescence management of electronics components, MTI quickly began enhancing features and component tracking capabilities to support our customers´ changing requirements. This process continues today, along with the development of a broad range of innovative solutions for other engineering challenges.
