BAE, MTI (BAE, MTI) Obsolescence Solutions Center (OSC) was established to combat the growing problem of Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) the loss or impending loss of suppliers and manufacturers of parts and raw materials -- that the Department of Defense (DoD) and other industries face.
The Obsolescence Solutions Center provides a suite of tools and services that are built around an obsolescence process, tool and database that has a 15-year track record of delivering cost-effective solutions and quantifiable returns-on-investments. The Centerīs goal is to provide obsolescence management solutions for any system in any industry, from the automotive to the space industry not just the military. We want to be recognized as the premier, one-stop company for obsolescence management solutions and total life cycle support.
The foundation of BAE, MTIīs Obsolescence Solutions Center was developed with the acquisition of Manufacturing Technology, Inc. (MTI), in 2005. MTI, after several years of development, released its Advanced Component Obsolescence Management (AVCOM) software and established a business unit devoted to obsolescence management services in 1997 in response to its DoD customersī growing need to quickly identify reliable sources of qualified components. Initially designed in 2001 as an obsolescence management tool for electronic components, AVCOM was designated as the Air Force DMSMS tool of choice for managing these components.
Building on this initial base, BAE, MTI has made additional investments in the AVCOM suite of obsolescence management software products and has developed a suite of software products customized to meet the needs of each branch of the Department of Defense. |
